Basti

Basti is considered as one of the five treatments of Panchakarma, through which medicated oil or natural decoction is administered into the colon. Basti, when introduced into the body, impacts all the systems and discharges the impurities collected. Nonetheless, it is also used in the treatments of obesity, thyroid, constipation, infertility, irregular menses, irritable bowel syndrome, hyperacidity, etc. Ayurveda believes that all these diseases are caused by the imbalanced Vata dosha, for which Basti can be the best solution. A lot of people confuse Basti with enema, however, Basti has a wider diaphragm and certainly provides a lot more than enema just therapy.
