Ayurveda promotes being healthy first, then to cure the pathology/diseases. There are some Do’s and Don’ts for being healthy according to daytime and seasons.

Abhyang is one of the things to do daily. Still, nowadays everyone’s life is too scheduled and Living in a concrete jungle has its own downside including pollution, noise, stressful work environment and much more. …. that we often forget to take the time to nourish our body and mind

According to Sanskrit terminology, Abhyanga (Abhi + Anga) means glowing body and Snan is a bath.

Abhyang means Oleation therapy, applying Luke warm medicated oil to the entire body from the scalp to the sole of the feet. Massage over till it gets absorbed. The weekly practice of Abhyanga with massage improves health and longevity.

In the winter season, the environment gets cold and dry also our bodies too. To overcome the dryness we must nourish our body. To fulfil the need of our body during winter it is traditionally engaged with Abhyang Snan during Diwali festival. Abhyanga Snan is one of the most important rituals of Diwali festivities. It is done in the morning of Naraka Chaturdashi Tithi. The Abhyanga Snan is an age-old tradition of purifying the body with aromatic herbs and pulses.

But Abhyang is not the thing to do only during the Diwali festival, Ideally, Abhyang is a daily need of our body especially in the winter season, At least one should perform once or twice a week
